In January, several countries will have restrictions on lorry traffic due to holidays.

Holiday traffic bans for heavy goods vehicles in January apply only on New Year’s Day and 6 January (Monday).

The second day is the Epiphany, which is celebrated in many European countries. However, not all countries have restrictions on truck traffic on this day – for example, Poland and Germany. The day before, a number of countries have regular Sunday restrictions on truck traffic.

In these countries trucks will have to stop:

January 1 (Wednesday, New Year’s Day) Austria – from 00:00 to 22:00. The traffic ban in this country applies to tractors with trailers with a GVW of the tractor or trailer exceeding 3.5 tonnes, trucks, articulated vehicles or self-propelled industrial machines with a GVW of over 7.5 tonnes.
